In 2017, four friends faced the same struggle most South Africans do: wanting the best for their families, but being blocked by high prices. Phones, fridges, baby gear, power backup – essentials we rely on – were just out of reach.
Rentoza was born out of that frustration: what if access, not ownership, was the new normal?
We started by building a marketplace, then transformed into a full subscription model – flexible, non-credit, and designed for real life. Through every pivot, our mission stayed the same: remove the burden so people can get the gear they need, when they need it.
Today, with over 36,000 total subscriptions since inception and around 14,000 active, we serve South Africans from Cape Town to Joburg to Durban, across tech, appliances, baby gear, fitness essentials, and even power solutions for load-shedding.
Rentoza isn’t just a subscription – it’s freedom, flexibility, and access for every South African who wants more out of life.
