The Role:
The Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the product backlog to deliver high-impact digital solutions. This role bridges the gap between business objectives and development teams by translating customer needs into actionable user stories, ensuring continuous product improvement, and driving value delivery in an Agile environment.
Key Role & Responsibilities:
Product Vision & Strategy
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define a clear product vision aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
- Contribute towards developing and maintaining a product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and market trends.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer feedback collection to inform product direction.
Backlog & Agile Execution
- Own, manage, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure delivery of high-value features.
- Write clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, and sales) to refine backlog items and ensure development efforts align with business goals.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Product Development & Delivery
- Define and validate requirements for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on user feedback and business priorities.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive, user-centric digital experiences.
- Act as the key point of contact for the development team, providing clarifications and ensuring timely feature delivery.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate product functionality before deployment.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary liaison between business units and the development team, ensuring effective communication and alignment of expectations.
- Communicate product updates, priorities, and roadmaps to key stakeholders.
- Gather feedback from internal and external users to continuously improve the product.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to track product success.
- Analyze product performance using data insights and user feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify process bottlenecks and propose data-driven strategies for optimization.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all product development initiatives comply with relevant regulations and security best practices.
- Work with legal, compliance, and risk teams to mitigate potential risks related to product implementation.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, Marketing, or related fields.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role in a digital/tech-driven environment.
- Experience working in Agile environments, particularly with Scrum or SAFe frameworks.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, Agile methodologies, and backlog prioritization.
- Familiarity with eCommerce, fintech, or SaaS products is a plus.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical & problem-solving skills – Ability to translate data insights into actionable decisions.
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management – Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with Agile tools – Jira, Confluence, Trello, or similar.
- Technical understanding – Ability to collaborate with engineers on feasibility, scalability, and implementation.
- User-centric mindset – Passion for building products that solve real user problems.
