We are looking for a Senior Human Resources Officer for a four months contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of human resources management. As a Senior HR Officer, you will play a crucial role in shaping organisational culture, fostering employee engagement, and driving business success through effective HR strategies and practices.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Reporting and compliance
- Assist with the administration of the implementation of the EE Plan in order to ensure compliance with the EE Act as well as the submission of EEA2 and EEA4
- All administration relating to Injury on Duty.
- OHS compliance
- Ensure BBBEE compliance and gathering of data.
- Compile and submit WSP and ATR
- Preparation for Labour Department requests/visits.
- Assist in preparing Disciplinary Hearing and CCMA bundles.
- Review monthly payroll input.
- Ensure all employees' information, contracts and documents are loaded on the HR system.
- Run absenteeism and work from home reports to ensure compliance.
- Ensure that all the information for leave administration has been received, e.g. sick certificates, etc.
- Provides staff with confirmation of employment letters, copies of payslips, service letters, IRP5's, Ul19, visa letters, etc. as required
- Drafting of Salary Adjustment Letters.
- Monthly review of payroll variance to payroll input.
- Maintain accurate HR records and documentation, including employee files, contracts, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Handle HR-related inquiries and requests from employees and external parties.
Onboarding, Probation and exit
- Draft onboarding & induction framework (including training) for the first month of new employees. Track that onboarding process and training is executed.
- Track probation and ensure weekly feedback from Line Managers as an audit trail.
- Employees exit: draft and issue UI19 and Certificate of Service and annual leave balance is reviewed before payment is made to the employee.
- Conduct Exit interview.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation between employees and management.
- Implement strategies to foster positive employee relations and a productive work environment.
Training & Development
- Coordinate training and induction sessions for employees
- Identify training needs within the organisation and develop training programs to address skill gaps.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in HR management, with at least 3 - 5 years in a senior HR role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other relevant software applications.
- Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR) is a plus.
